Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used forms of medicine in the world. Originating in Asia more than 3000 years ago, acupuncture is currently one of the most thoroughly researched, practiced, and respected forms of alternative medicine available anywhere.

How's it work?
Acupuncture works through the manipulation of very thin sterile needles on specific points along meridians running in regular patterns throughout the body. Acu-points are tiny areas on the skin that contain highly concentrated levels and conglomerations of nerve endings, lymphatic vessels, and blood vessels. While stimulation of an acu-point with a needle is relatively painless, it activates the nervous system, initiating a cascade of hormones and neurotransmitters that influence the body's own internal regulating systems, promoting health and healing.

The many benefits of acupuncture include:
  • Pain reduction
  • Stress and tension relief
  • Improved fertility
  • Increased energy levels
  • Stronger digestion
  • Greater sense of overall health and well-being

Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a Traditional Japanese Medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort, a small, wool like herb, to facilitate healing and health. Moxibustion stimulates local white blood cell production and triggers an immune response through stimulated areas of the body. It also firms and solidifies flaccid tissue layers.

Among other benefits, a landmark study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 1998 found that 75.4% of women suffering from breech presentations before childbirth had fetuses that rotated to the normal position after receiving moxibustion therapy.

Manual Immune Modulation
Manual Immune Modulation is a superficial facial technique targeting latent pathogens.  It influences neural lymphatic pathways, generating  an immune cascade allowing the patients body to attack and detox pathogenic influences. I have developed this technique from my osteopathic studies, and it has become a primary modality of treatment in my office.
